Second Nine Weeks

For the Week of Dec. 5-9
Monday- Students will continue and finalize their prewriting and drafts. Tuesday- Students will learn the difference between revising and proofreading/editing. They will be introduced to proofreading marks. Homework: Revising exercise -- CLICK HERE Directions for Homework: Complete the top of the page--only! You are revising NOT EDITING! You must make changes to the draft provided. Use the appropriate proofreading marks to help you. DO NOT use BLUE! Write your final revisions on the lines provided and bring them to class tomorrow. Wednesday- Wednesday- In the interest of excellence and mastery, tonight's homework has been changed. We will continue our work on revising. Directions for Homework: You have been given a choice of topics to revise. Choose only ONE and follow the directions on the sheet. CLICK HERE for a copy Thursday- Students will continue the writing process by publishing their work. Yes, NOW YOU CAN TYPE! You may use Microsoft Publisher or Word. [Type your titles in 18pt. or higher. Type your text in 11 or 12pt. depending on the style of it. All fonts must be easy to read!] Friday- Students will continue to publish their work and prepare to present it to the class. If you finish early, you may complete one of the following: a. An analogies exercise b. A functional reading exercise |

Please continue the homework from last night or today's notes from class. You will be graded on the quality of your prewriting and draft! I am including the notes from class to assist you, if needed. |
Homework for Tuesday, November 29th:
Writing Task: Look at the picture, and think about each element carefully. You will write a Three-Quarter Pager using all four of the elements shown. It doesn't matter how you use them just as long as your work follows a logical progression of ideas. Remember that good writing deserves your best! Use the writing process to help you achieve a higher grade! |
